He was very committed abd enthusiastic about his studies and he longed for the approaching date of his ordination. But suddenly he was called to join the Army during the First World War. He was struck by a bullet and died a few minutes afterwards with a very intense pain. That happened near Cortina d’Ampezzo, at the foot of Mount Tofana.
