He exercised his priestly ministry in Piacenza, Pavia and Trento. After the end of the war he returned to Pavia and lived there until 1924. He was then sent to Milan where he spent almost 12 years in working for the parish community. In 1937 he became an itinerant missionary: always ready for anything. For seven years he was a member of the community of Trento, during the Second World War, and then he worked in the ‘Associazione Missionaria Bertoni’ (the Mission Office) of Verona.
The retreats he gave are innumerable: many tridua, missions, novenas, panegyrics and Spiritual Exercises. He had a sharp intelligence and the gift of eloquence, with an exceptional memory and a long experience.
