Paternity, prudence and wisdom: these three words could define Fr Charles.

He was very much engaged as missionary and teacher in the seminary of Guam from 1952 to 1959. Back to USA he worked in the mission office as director from 1959 to 1961. Then he went to Thailand for three years. In 1965 he was again in America and for the second time in the mission office (he will be there a third time in 1976). He was also much appreciated as a preacher.

As superior Provincial from 1970 to 1976 he managed to conclude some juridical problems with his determination and intelligence.

From 1984 he obtained to be allowed to serve in the Province of Santa Maria della Speranza as a missionary in the Philippines, for ten years.  He was very much appreciated by the people because he never gave up in ministering to them even when it was hard, and he was always in the front line as far as witnessing charity for the poor.

In particular he dedicated himself to rescue sick and hungry children. He must have surely saved some hundred of them from death. We estimate that between 10 thousand and 20 thousand passed through his clinic, receiving welcome, treatment, medicines and hospitalisation free of charge.  He had the same kindness for his confreres. He was the appreciated confessor and counsellor of the seminarians.

He returned to USA in 1996.
