After having been educated in St. Joseph’s School in Waltham MA,  Fr. Donald then entered  the Stigmatine and frequented the Seminary in Wellesley. He was ordained a priest in 1965 in the Naational Shrine of he Imamculate Cnception in Washington. He also received a degree in theology.

After a brief missionary experience in Thailand, Fr. Donald was named assistant pastor of  Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish in Pittsfield, where he remained until 1969. Following this, he was named Director of the Catholic Center of Information in Sault Ste. In Ontario, Canada. In 1973m he entered as Chapalin of  the American Air Corps, and remained there until 1985, reaching the  rank of Major.

A serious illness [leukemia] forced him to resign from the military, and then he was chosen Vocation Director for  the Province of the Holy Spouses. From 1986 – 1994, he lived in the Student House in Cromwell CT, where he offered his services as Formation Director and master of Novices. He was a member of the Provincial Council from 1988, until the state of his health, now having reached a precarious condition, obliged him to resign at the beginning of 1994.

Fr, Donald wrote, among other brief works regarding our Stigmatine life, a  short biography of St. Gaspar. His ill ness brought him considerable suffering and discomfort, but he was able to retain a rather serene attitude  and very accepting of his failing health. He  gave the impression of one who knew how to wait and hope in the Lord with patience.
