PERMANENT DEACON De Wildt, South Africa - 11.9.1976
DECEASED: Verona - 7.12.1991
AGE: 72
He entered our ciongregation in Verona in 1935 and had his first profession in Sezano in 1937. He lived then at the Stimmate from 1937 to 1943. For three months he lived in Affi (VR) then from 1938 to 1943 he was sent to the diocesan Minor Seminary of San Severino Marche.
He went back to the Stimmate from 1943 to 1945, then he went to Udine until 1958, and finally to Trento from 1958 to 1960. He always occupied the task of infirmarian in the communities and in the colleges, with great competence and dedication.
In 1960 he left for the new mission in South Africa (De Wildt/Mmakau) with the first confreres, where he stayed until 1976. From 1976 to 1980 he lived in Pretoria North. Then he returned to Mmakau, continuing his much appreciated service as infirmarian and animator of the youth, loved and revered by everybody. He was also bursar of the community.
In 1974 he felt called to the permanent Diaconate to add the grace of the sacrament to his long ministry of service as infirmarian of bodies and souls.
He was for everybody a Good Samaritan, sensitive and ready to help. He was able to soothe wounds and sorrows with his attention and care. He managed to enter into the souls of many persons with his simple words of paternal and friendly support. As a genuine evangelical missionary, he managed to harmonise in a wonderful way human promotion and evangelisation.
