He migrated from Ireland to USA at the age of 19. In 1904 he got married in Boston and had nine children. One of them became a Stigmatine. After the death of his wife he wished to leave family life and become a Stigmatine too. He had a kind and father-like character. All admired him for his simplicity and humility. He offered his service as a brother in the communities of Waltham, Wellesley and the novitiate of Springfield. He died a holy death after a long illness.
