He was a simple and devout person. He spent all his life in utmost humility and in dedicating himself completely to his duties. He was a gardener in Uberaba, a sacristan in Campinas, S. Caetano, Casa Branca, Morrinhosa and Rio Claro.
His life was full of events in the same time simple and colourful. He often landed in comic and risky predicaments. He was very much devout of Our Lady, of St Anthony and of the holy souls in Purgatory.
