Born in Waltham he entered our Minor Seminary there in 1933. He did his theology studies in Wellesley and was ordained priest in 1943. In 1951 he obtained his MA in arts  from the Boston College.

He exercised his priestly and magisterial ministry as teacher and formator of our students in the seminary of Waltham, from 1943 to 1949, and in the seminary of Wellesley as teacher of theology from 1951 to 1953.

From 1949 to 1951 he was chaplain of the State Prisons and from 1953 to 1956 chaplain of the military hospital of Waltham.  From 1956 to 1964 he preached Spiritual Retreats in the Espousal Centre at Waltham, and missions to the people in various places of the dioceses of New England and New York.

From 1964 to 1989 he offered his services to the archdioceses of Washington (DC), Miami, and the diocese of Arlington (VA), near our own works.

He was provincial councillor and prefect of Studies from 1956 to 1964. He was editor of “The Stigmatine Magazine” (1956) and author of an autobiography – “Out of the Depths” – in which he narrated his own experience of spiritual and psychological growth.
