Immediately after his ordination he went to our mission in China, where he completed his studies of theology while learning the language and the customs of that people. After completion of his studies he began his missionary life in the district of Laiyuan, a mountainous place and the farthest away from Yihsien. In 1940 wa elected capitular and went back to Italy. There he was compelled to remain because of the outbreak of the war until 1948. He then left for China together with Fr Mario Stefanini. In 1952 he was released (= expelled) to return to Italy. He continued to dedicate himself to the apostolic work in several Stigmatine communities.
