He distinguished himself throughout his whole life for a spirit of humility and religious poverty. In his ministry he was sought after as a good counsellor. He was always available to accept any task. He was Visitator, provincial councillor and general councillor in Rome from 1964 to 1970. After returning to his Brazil he dedicated himself with great enthusiasm to the sacred ministry.
He died suddenly while preparing himself for a lecture on Sacred Scripture.
