He lived in many communities and was appointed superior at Pistoia during the First World War. He served also as a bursar. The main ministry he exercised was that of an assistant parish priest at S. Croce in Rome, where he worked for more than forty years. He ministered especially to the elderly, the sick and celebrated funerals. He was very competent in matrimonial procedures. He was always very active, smiling and sought after by people for his wisdom.
